Welcome!

Welcome There is an island located 2,000 km southeast of Florida with an amazing geographic diversity from stunning white sandy beaches, rich green forests, deserts and rivers. Thousands of birds call this place home due to its more than 28,000 acres of rain forest, much of it declared an International Biosphere Sight. This island is Puerto Rico, also called the Isle of Enchantment. Millions of visitors come to its shore every year to experience what it has to offer.

Puerto Rico, which means Rich Port in Spanish, is an unincorporated territory of the United States of America and its capital city is San Juan. Tourists who enjoy the Caribbean atmosphere would definitely enjoy Puerto Rico. With the Atlantic on its north coast and the Caribbean on its south coast, this place offers a variety of activities.

Aside from the main island which you would definitely enjoy visiting, there are other smaller islands which is a part of Puerto Rico. These islands include Culebra, Vieques, Desecheo, Caja de Muertos and Mona. Only Culebra and Vieques are inhabited the whole year. Mona, although uninhabited, is a favorite place to visit by divers due to its abundant marine life and diverse sea ecology.

Enjoying a year round summer temperature averaging 80 F, many tourists flock to Puerto Rico especially during the months of December to April. If you want to avoid the crowd then I suggest a trip scheduled between May and November, which is the low season.

If you are a U.S. citizen then you don’t need any passport or visa to travel in and out of Puerto Rico since it is a part of the U.S. If you are a citizen of other countries then visit your local U.S. embassy and apply for a visa first before scheduling your trip.
